The relationship between design and visualization is undergoing a fundamental shift. For years, the rendering pipeline demanded a separate skill set—one that pulled architects away from design and toward modeling, tracing, and asset hunting. By integrating AI-enabled functionalities across workflows, CannonDesign stopped treating visualization as a downstream step and rebuilt it as part of the design process. This session will explore how real-time rendering and AI-enabled workflows are collapsing the distance between design intent and finished imagery, eliminating the 3D model-to-visualization handoff, and allowing architects to work directly on content rather than a representation of it. It's a new approach to design where clients engage with designs early, deliverables are experiences rather than static files, and architects invest more time developing strong design concepts. To illustrate the modern workflows outlined, the session will conclude with a D5 demo by Jeff Espinoza.
